PRODUCTION: MAIN PROJECT

For our production, we together agreed on a time and date which suited us and our extras. Once on site, between myself, Sam and Jono we sharred the roles of directing and actually filming the action. This worked well, as it gave us all a turn at the important jobs and producing our film. We had a shooting script that we stuck to. This told us what the shot order was, and allowed us to create a clear narrative. This gave as a clear structure to work from, this we didn't use during our preliminary sequence, and meant there was no structure to our preliminary sequence. We used a variety of shots to create our clear narrative. We used close-ups on 'Big Jon' to convey his authority and used an establishing shot, which we didn't in our preliminary task, to set the scene. As we filmed on different days, we needed to maintain continuity on the weather and with the costumes the actors were wearing. This is a problem we didn't face with our preliminary sequence, but we managed to pull it off, by checking the weather forcast and keeping note of what we wore. Even though we had our shooting script, as we were filming, we did make changes. Once some of the action had been filmed, we did make so changes to make our opening sequence more effective. We filmed a whole car sequence with a two shot for the entire shot. We decided this was boring, so we decided to do shot-reverse-shots from different angles in the car. This helped us establish a more effective film.

We did plan to have a subway scene, yet we decided to cut this out as we believed there was no need for it, and the narrative would still be clear without it.
